The 11.8mm has a slow-rise taper while the 12.4mm has a 16 inch pro taper and the 12.8mm has a 12 inch pro taper.  The shaft can be wiped with a dry cloth or alcohol wipes, do not sand. Multiple joints are available in 29" or 30".
